Okay, just finished doing a bit of spring cleaning for the garage sale this weekend. I personally can't stand garage sales. Thankfully, it is at the house of one of my team mates.

And I really hate sitting there watching people poke through things. Oh, but the actual people watching itself? Priceless.

All the money is going to be donated to the 3 Day Walk. And I get to write off all the PartyLite stuff that I collected over that crazy time that I was a consultant.

Yeah, I know.

I thought I was enough of a pyro to be able to withstand that which was the horror of PartyLite. I wasn't. Now I have these boxes that have been literally collecting dust.

Whew! Time to go crash.

Has anyone seen "Surviving History" on the History Channel? These guys make historical disciplinarian devices, of course, some are meant to kill a person. Most times in a very, very creative way.

They talk about the history of such things as a chasity belt, rack, and many things I had never heard of. Then they make them.

That is all well and dandy, but then comes the point when someone has to try out the device. The concern for the victims health is important, but bruises, marks, and psychological damage won't kill you...

They are a sick bunch and I thought of you all.

For the record, I am not responsible for any idea that anyone gets from this show.

Walking home from work takes a *lot* longer than driving.

Walking the same distance in a nice cool gym on a treadmill. Oooh, so much easier.

The person who invented the Camelbak daypack is a fucking genius.

And last, but not least, BodyGlide is the most fabulous thing on the face of the earth. I started a wee blister on my foot in the one spot I missed. Everywhere else...is just dandy. Including (sorry, TMI) not chaffing under my breasts. Heat, sweat and friction can just fuck off and die.

Let it just be said...Eddie Izzard is a genius!

This is the first time I have ever seen him live...and now I will endeavor for it not to be my last.

I went with some awesome people, although I did have to take some ribbing for wanting a t-shirt. The crowd was crazy and I opted to get one online. If only I had known that he isn't selling his "Cake or Death" shirts anymore on his fundraising site. *heavy sigh*

Okay, the plan for this weekend was to catch up on some *much* needed yard/house work. We planned this yesterday while sitting out in the sun.

And then the thunder started last night. Crap.

Maybe we will at least get a chance to mow the lawns and bring down some of the ivy.

Between the crazy weather, crazy work hours and neither of us being able to find the zen in working in the garden, we are way behind. Despite that, we finally worked ourselves up to being motivated to get it done. Stupid rain.

I blame my mother for all those years that she made me weed her huge cactus garden.

I work with people that doing something in their yard almost every weekend. One woman can often come up with the Latin name for flowers. Usually when people ask me if I know what kind of flower something is...I refer to the color.
"Hey, Sam, what kind of flower is that??"
"Red."

And another conversation that has happened many times over the years:
"Oooh, look at that pretty little flower!"
"Sam, that is a weed."
"Oh. Well. It is still pretty."

And I can't help that I still like to blow on dandelions and make a wish. I know that means there will be more in our yard. Good. More wishes for me!!

The Fremont Fair's volunteer shirts this year were *not* a horrifying color. Very pleased.
I was a bit sad that while the sun was sort of out...it was muggy. Tons of people and muggy are not a good combination for me.
Thankfully, after my shift was up I got to hang out with a most awesome person. I still can't believe that she had never been to the Fremont Fair!
Oh, and must not forget the people watching!

I am so looking forward to the Fremont Fair this weekend. As is tradition, I will be volunteering in the morning and watching naked bicyclists in the afternoon. I get to help raise money for Solid Ground AND see naked people?!? Sounds like a good day to me.

I am a mavrick. Oh, yes. I do like the sound of that! Much better than some of the other things I have been called!

I never realized I laughed so much until I saw Matisse's videos. Wow. You would think we were having fun or something. It was almost exactly a year ago that we did that scene in the video...and we still laugh (or is it cackle??) that much when we play. MFP is just the most awesome person. Oh, and don't tell her I said that. Much appreciated!

Honestly,I love that something we have so much fun doing can entertain our friends so much.

Now, if only I can get My Favorite Pincushion to stop using her monkey feet to nudge my breasts when they have needles in them. I mean, really, is it my fault she didn't have a long enough reach?!?

I have to say the fact that he was laughing and making faces the entire time shows that even he cannot follow his own rules!

The sun is out here in WA and I decide to hit the sidewalk instead of the treadmill.
And about 1.5 out...I feel the hot spot. Yes, indeed, I grabbed the newer shoes instead of the ones I am phasing out. No bandaids...need to walk back home...
The last 1/2 mile home was done with a lot of inner grumblings. When I got home I hopped in the shower. I don't know what I was thinking. Oh, the sting.
I blame my confusion about this whole "sun being out" thing...

I was just behind a major accident. The car in front of me was turning left and someone plowed right into them. That is when the cops started spilling out of the 4 cars that were following them...with their guns out.

First instinct...get out and check on the driver that just got hit. I know it has been awhile since I did anything like that...but the instinct is still there.

Then reality smacked me in the head. Not with all those guns out, thank you very much. Still, driving around all of this and not doing anything made me feel a little helpless.

This is why I can't bring myself to get on a goddamn motorcycle.

The Friday that I drove down to CA I made sure that I had packed a few energy drinks...just in case.
Well, about 4 hours into the drive I decided to have one. Holy crap! It is a good thing that I have cruise control. I was so damn wired. Never really crashed (me or the car), but made it there in record time.
I have had a few since then, but they didn't have the glorious effect. Ah well, I guess that I have to wait another 20 days or so....

For those that know me...every now and then I have to just disconnect from as much as possible. Dunno why.
So, I am slowly coming back to the world. I know I owe many emails and phone calls.
I haven't decided if I am going to the Friday party tonight...
I will be going to the Blood Party tomorrow night.
I'm getting there...just work hasn't really gotten better and I have come to hate being in front of a computer.

Quick post before heading out for work
Got home late last night from Portland. Crazy weather aside, it was super weekend. Wonderful people, sharp pointy things, stun guns, brusise, and Powell's. Really don't need much else in life.
